These are the instruments that calibrate other instruments. They represent the highest value in our catalogue, and they are also where buying used delivers the largest absolute saving.

Multi-product versus multifunction

Multi-product calibrators such as the 5520A and 5522A source volts, amps, resistance, capacitance and temperature from one chassis, and are the working standard in commercial calibration laboratories.

Multifunction calibrators such as the 5730A and 5720A are primary standards, specified for calibrating the multi-product calibrators themselves. Which you need is determined by your accreditation scope, not by preference.

Calibration and support

Instruments in this class should be bought with fresh accredited calibration, which also serves as the most thorough functional test the instrument will receive. We can arrange this before despatch.

Check option codes carefully. Oscilloscope calibration options, wideband modules and extended ranges are significant value and do not always transfer as expected.
