Infrared cameras hold their value better than almost anything else we stock, which keeps used prices firm and makes condition assessment the critical part of the purchase.

Resolution against thermal sensitivity

Detector resolution determines how much detail you resolve at distance; thermal sensitivity determines how small a temperature difference you can see. For electrical inspection, sensitivity usually matters more — a developing fault is a small delta, not a small object.

Higher resolution earns its price when standoff distance is fixed: inspecting switchgear from behind a barrier, or roofs from ground level.

What we verify

Every camera is checked for dead pixels against a uniform surface, focus mechanism operation through full travel, and thermal accuracy against a blackbody reference. Autofocus models are checked for convergence rather than hunting.

Battery condition and charger presence are stated explicitly, as are the lenses fitted by part number. Interchangeable smart lenses on Ti450-class cameras are expensive and easily separated during liquidation.

Common questions

How many dead pixels are acceptable?

A few isolated pixels on an older camera are normal and do not affect measurement. Clusters, particularly near frame centre, do — we photograph any we find.

Do older models like the Ti32 still get supported?

Calibration and battery availability remain good for the Ti series. We confirm current support status before listing.

Is calibration necessary?

Only if you report numerical temperatures against threshold criteria. For qualitative fault-finding, a functional check is enough.
