Programmable controllers are bought under time pressure. A line is down, the catalogue number is known, and the only question is who has one on the shelf today. That is why discontinued Rockwell processors hold their value so stubbornly.

Discontinued is the point, not the problem

ControlLogix L6x, SLC 500 and PLC-5 are all discontinued, and all three are still running production across thousands of plants. Migrating a validated line to a current platform costs engineering time and downtime that nobody schedules willingly.

A tested surplus processor with the same catalogue number drops straight into the existing rack and runs the existing program. That is a fraction of the cost of a migration, and it can be done in an afternoon.

Firmware revision matters more than cosmetics

A processor whose firmware revision does not match the rest of the system will fault on power-up. We report the revision as the controller itself reports it, not from the label, and we can flash to a specified revision on request.

Batteries and energy storage modules are consumable. L6x processors take a 1756-BA2 battery; L7x and later use an ESM. We state what is fitted and its condition rather than leaving you to find out on commissioning.
