ESU analyzers measure RF output power, current and crest factor into a controlled load, and verify return electrode monitoring. They are annual-inspection equipment for any department maintaining electrosurgical generators.

The load bank is the instrument

Measuring RF power requires a precise, non-inductive load that can absorb the generator's full output. The QA-ES III has an internal variable load bank covering 0 to 5115 ohm, which is what allows automated power distribution curves.

For higher-power generators an external load such as the RF303 extends the range.

REM and ARM testing

Return electrode monitoring verification is a safety-critical test that confirms the generator will shut down on a poor patient plate connection. Confirm the analyzer supports the contact quality test method your generators use.

We exercise the load bank through its full range and verify RF measurement against a generator of known output before listing.
