Patient Simulators

Multiparameter vital signs, ECG, NIBP and SpO2 simulators for biomedical departments.

Brands in this category: Fluke Biomedical

Patient simulators produce known physiological signals so monitors can be verified against them. The instruments are durable; the risk in a used purchase is almost entirely accessories.

Parameters determine the instrument

A ProSim 8 covers ECG, respiration, invasive and non-invasive blood pressure, temperature and SpO2 in one handheld. A ProSim 3 covers ECG and respiration only, at a fraction of the price.

Buy for what you actually verify. Departments frequently over-buy parameters they never test, and under-buy the adapters they need daily.

SpO2 adapters are the catch

Optical SpO2 testing requires manufacturer-specific adapters — Masimo, Nellcor, Nihon Kohden, Philips, Nonin — because each manufacturer uses a different R-curve. Without the adapter for the monitors you service, the SpO2 function is unusable.

These adapters are expensive and are the item most often missing. Every listing states which are included, by brand.

Common questions

Do simulators need annual calibration?

Most quality systems require it. Accredited calibration is available before despatch.

Are batteries replaceable?

On most models yes, though packs for older simulators can be scarce. We state measured battery condition.

Can one simulator cover all monitor brands?

For ECG and pressure, yes. For SpO2 you need the correct optical adapter per brand.
