Ventilator & Gas Flow Analyzers

Gas flow analyzers, respiratory calibration analyzers and precision test lungs.

Brands in this category: Fluke Biomedical

Gas flow analyzers verify ventilator and anaesthesia machine performance. They are the most technically demanding instruments in the biomedical range, and sensor age matters as much as calibration date.

Sensor life is the hidden cost

Internal gas sensors degrade with use and have a finite life independent of calibration. A recently calibrated analyzer with old sensors will still need sensor replacement, and that is a significant cost.

Always ask when sensors were last replaced, not just when the unit was last calibrated. We state both.

Choosing between platforms

The VT650 remains the most widely deployed instrument and has strong parts support. The VT900A is the current generation with a touchscreen and modular high and low flow options.

The legacy VT Plus HF has an enormous installed base, which keeps both demand and parts availability high — often the pragmatic choice for a department standardising on what it already runs.

Common questions

How often do gas sensors need replacing?

Typically every few years depending on use and gas exposure. Cost is a meaningful fraction of a used analyzer's value.

Do these test anaesthesia machines as well as ventilators?

Yes, provided the gas mixtures you use are supported. Confirm gas compensation coverage for your application.

Is a test lung included?

Only where stated. Precision test lungs such as the Accu Lung are quoted separately.
